Boko Suzuki
Boko
is currently music directing Rent on Broadway after having music
directed both national tours, as well as supervising the Australian
production. Boko most recently music directed the national tour of Swing!, for which he was nominated for an L.A. Drama Critic's Circle
Award, and the first national tour of Mamma Mia! Boko has
conducted, composed or played for many of Canada's top theatre
companies, including the Stratford and Charlottetown Festivals,
the Grand Theatre, Tarragon, and YPT. He has played
shows such as CATS, Les Miserables and The Music of
Andrew Lloyd Webber and conducted Phantom of the Opera,
Miss Saigon, The Who's TOMMY and Sunset Boulevard, as
well as appearing as guest conductor with the Toronto Symphony at
Roy Thomson Hall. Boko has composed original scores for many stage
productions, including Naomi's Road and Timothy Findley's The
Stillborn Lover, and was commissioned to compose the overture for
the opening ceremonies of the Confederation Bridge in Prince
Edward Island.
